Week beginning 15th August - Nursery 2 Fruits and Vegetables Project

This week our little learners in the Bumblebees Room have continued their learning journey about fruits and vegetables. To begin another wonderful week of learning the Bumblebees further extended their sensory and creative exploration through a craft painting activity painting corn(15/8).

We further extended our creativity throughout the week by using real vegetables such as celery stems to create a flower painting (16/8). Our little learners further extended their sensory exploration through their own tray full of mud where they explored their fruits and vegetables and using the tongs as well as their hands to enhance their learning during this particular task (17/8).

This week saw the creation of our very own 'Bumblebees Vegetable Hut' in our outdoor cubby house (16/8). Inside their vegetable hut were images of all different fruits and vegetables for children to continue their learning through visual displays. Throughout the week children continued to explore their vegetable hut using their dramatic play food items to further extend their play (17/8).

What the Bumblebees learnt this week through their interest:

* Opportunities for Imaginative Play

* Opportunities to explore different senses through play

* Opportunities to develop their fine motor skills e.g. using small tongs during their experiences.

* Opportunities to improve our creative skills through new and exciting craft experiences.

* Opportunities to develop social skills including learning to share with others so all children could have a turn to be actively engaged.

Next week (week beginning 22nd August) the Bumblebees will continue:

* Frozen Vegetable Sensory Experiences

* Capsicum stamping and planting experience.
