This week our little learners in the Butterflies room continued their learning journey exploring nature through their physical health interest. To continue extending on children's interests we began the week exploring:
Physical Activity
The senior butterflies continued their physical activity today focusing on their gross motor skills (22/8). They learnt about balance, strength and coordination and through a ball activity were encouraged to develop their foot eye coordination skills. Our preschoolers further extended their balance and coordination skills through a hopscotch activity (23/8).
Following this task children also drew their own hopscotch on a piece of paper to share with their peers. We ended a wonderful week of learning through a yoga and meditation exercise (25/8) where children practised different moves throughout the experience.
Dental Health
Our junior butterflies continued learning about oral hygiene through a counting and number activity (22/8). The preschoolers counted the teeth on the mouth and worked on finding the matching number during this activity. The preschoolers further extended their learning through a sensory activity with the letters for 'smile' in the blue coloured water (23/8).
We further explored dental health through a roll and count activity where they were each given a dice to roll over the paper and then place the counter on the tooth (24/8). To end another wonderful week of learning the preschoolers painted tooth brushes of different sizes through a group activity (25/8). The children identified bristles as the part of the brush that we use to brush our teeth on our tooth brush.
