This week our little learners in the Butterflies room continued their learning journey exploring nature through their physical health interest. To continue extending on children's interests we began the week exploring:
Physical Activity
To begin another wonderful week of learning our senior butterflies continued learning about physical activity through a body movements activity (15/8). We began the activity learning about body movements and building our muscles and strength. The children also shared some body movements that they know e.g. cart wheels/ hand stands. The preschoolers also continued developing their balance and strength on a medicine ball (16/8).
We leaned over the ball balancing ourselves on top. We continued our learning engaging in a ping pong game using a balloon as a ball and paper plate as the wooden handle (17/8). We further developed our athletics skills through different exercises where we listened, balanced, followed instructions and worked as part of a team (18/8).
Dental Health
The junior Butterflies began another wonderful week of learning participating in a creative arts experience painting their own mouths (15/8). They learnt about how many teeth are in their mouths at different ages. The butterflies journey led to learning about how teeth can help identify a person just like our finger prints can (16/8). From this children created a craft designing their own tooth print. We continued to explore different foods that are healthy and all about keeping our teeth clean (17/8).
The butterflies learnt that teeth have different names and demonstrated using a dental prop how to brush teeth correctly (18/8). We ended another week of learning making black cavities using crepe paper during our creative arts experience (19/8).
