Week beginning 8th August - Nursery 2 Fruits and Vegetables Project

This week our little learners in the Bumblebees room continued their learning journey exploring fruits and vegetables. To continue extending on children's interests we began the week engaging in a creative arts themed experience using different vegetables (8/8). The Bumblebees used real potato, celery and capsicum to create different stamp prints using real foods. Together with their educator the children listened as their educator actively explained all the different vegetables they were using.

We created a sensory tray full of fruits and vegetables and shaving foam. Children were very curious and enthusiastic learners also having the opportunity to learn about colours as they added green food colouring in the foam (9/8). The Bumblebees continued exploring other vegetables through a similar painting experience using lemon, carrot and celery (9/8). The Bumblebees further continued their creative expression through a bubble wrap painting experience making grapes and broccoli (10/8). The children also used sustainable resources making an orange fruit using cardboard boxes (11/8). To conclude another wonderful week of the learning the Bumblebees also used their senses of touch to create finger print painting of purple grapes (12/8).

What the Bumblebees learnt this week through their interest:

Opportunities to develop their creative expression through Creative Arts experiences.

Opportunities for sensory exploration through their play.

Opportunities to develop their fine motor skills and hand eye coordination skills during their learning experiences.

Opportunities to continue to develop social skills including learning to share with others so all children could have a turn to be actively engaged.
